Chasing Daylight

Monday, November 23, 2015

||   Traveled into peculiar little Shoreditch yesterday to meet a lovely instagram friend face to face. Puts me continually in awe of God's ability to architect our paths when I run across moments like this where a 26 yr old girl from Vancouver, Cananda moves to London in faith while simultaneously a 27yr old girl from Montana, says yes to packing up and adventuring with her husband to London. And although settling into new homes and countries got the best of both our schedules, we finally found a way to meet!

We planned to snap a few shots, coffee of course, peek into a local shop and then church later. London transportation delays got the best of us but we did still manage to acquire a few images as we chased the daylight down.

Corina is a brilliant photographer by trade and by nature. Her eye for emotion comes out in such a simple way through her photos. She's timeless and full of effortless taste. It really was an honor to be a subject of her talent. See it all for yourself here!

Overall, we had a short but sweet time - one that I'll hold dear to my heart. London is making an impression on me.   ||

Treat yo self

Tuesday, November 17, 2015

||   Have no fear, product posts will be few and far between but every once in a while there's that small treat yo self moment that must be slightly celebrated. (ps. you should probably click on that link later if you're into a good chuckle..)

I mentioned in the previous post, mulled wine for the win and if you're really hard core you've seen my instagram post and know how I entered Aesop with style and grace spilling my wine all over the place. They've never seen a customer with such poise I'm sure of it.

Like a stray cat they took me in, cleaned me up, got me a small towel, soap and some lotion to help the redemption process - how handy! The associate there introduced me to this babe of a hand balm and the rest is history!

Really though, Aesop goods have a fabulous reputation and if you can get yourself into one of their shops without looking like a fool, I'd highly recommend that you do. If you think not, then it's probably best you stay inside closed doors, save yourself the embarrassment and grab yourself a tube here!   ||

Fresh to Death

Monday, November 16, 2015

||   This weekend my long time friend Christiann of Portland Fresh stopped by for a quick visit! She's doing her rounds being an amazing food photographer and made the time to swing by London to spend a day with me!

Of course we started with coffee (because addicts) but they say the first step is admitting it. I wouldn't claim myself to be a coffee connoisseur but I'll do what it takes to get a good cup of brew. Originally we got lost trying to find the first spot only to find out they were CLOSED ON A SATURDAY?! Luckily we found two other sufficient alternatives and got coffee at both to reward ourselves in our efforts.

After we fueled ourselves up we played tourists at the infamous Borough Market. I'm not kidding, there was so. much. cheese. to choose from - it was a mouse's holy land! I spent my time tasting samples like a good little american Costco shopper while she professionally took photos and purchased cheese like a real deal cheese champ. (ps. I miss Costco..)

Amongst the land of cheese and honey was food vendor after food vendor with every type of cuisine you could get your lips on. In the spirit of adventure we stopped by a stand serving mulled wine. They offered a "medicinal" blend which is code for "with whiskey" so naturally we took them up on it. It warmed our hearts... and our cheeks ;)

Overall we had a great time enduring the pushing through of crowded chaos in the non-stop London rain. It all proved more than worth it!   ||

If you enjoy your food for its looks as well as it's taste, check out Christiann's work as Portland Fresh at http://www.portlandfresh.com/!
